The BBoards
There is so much happening in surfboard design and development right now, and lots of it is being worked on or commented on in surfing’s two major online design forums.
Bert Burger and Greg Loehr are starting a compsand operation in San Diego. Apparently they’ve secured the backing of industry bigwigs and Kelly and Taj are ripping on the boards. I heard a rumor of the shaper involved with the project. If it IS this guy, he’ll definately turn some local SD heads in his direction. More rumors, hints and speculation at sways.
Matt Biolas of Lost fame, has sent some of his pro’s to INDO with EPS/Epoxy fish for testing, but doesn’t have feedback yet. He is having issues producing EPS boards in significant quantities, and is being super open by posting on the surfermag forum. Greg and Burt stepped into his his thread on surfermag BB and tried to help out. What follows is probably the most open and honest business post on a forum ever. The thread has guest appearances by Cole Surfboards, Pinliner from Moonlight Glassing, foam makers, kooks, etc.
Just to make sure we have all the construction methods in this post, here are some nice hollow wooden fish going into mollusk in SF.
