SUP Kooks Out In Boiling Water

CJ Kanuha is desperate for money. So desperate in fact, that he tried to standup surf a wave generated by falling lava. Taken alone, that might just have been some ballsy playing around, but it’s pretty clear from the fact that he and a photographer payed for a helicopter so they photograph it, that it’s a big publicity stunt. From the photos it looks like all he got from the effort was melted wax and burned shins. Hilarious.

I’d pay money to have a wave of lava take away all the springsuit/booty man funboard barnyards and the SUPers, too.

so what!? we bodysurfed very close to flowing lava in the mid ’80’s, difference is, we didn’t/don’t run around with camera crew shooting every move we make, kids these days.

Think Baja violence is confined to TJ? Yeah, I did too. I stopped 6 hours south in El Rosario for tacos last Friday, on Saturday there was a drive by shooting at the La Mijita loncheia. La Mijita is popular with locals and gringos and by all accounts was run by generous people. The targets were 3 'self employeed' area men, but the husband and wife owners were hit by stray bullets. The wife just passed away.
