Paddle For Clean Water
Surfrider San Diego’s paddle for clean water is this Sunday (16th) in Ocean Beach. It looks to be quite the event this year, with a party afterwards and free breakfast before the event. Who doesn’t like free breakfasts, parties and clean water?

This year there will be a Post Paddle Party, a Festival for Healthy Oceans immediately following the Paddle until 6pm at the Ocean Beach Pier parking lot. The event will include art, craft, and food vendors; health and wellness booths; dance performances; live bands; a kid’s art contest and an environmentally themed art show at Rock Paper Scissors Galleria which is located at 4967 Newport Ave. (The art show will be at Rock Paper Scissors for two weeks after the event!) In addition, Stone Brewing Co. will be hosting a beer garden at the Post Paddle Party for those who are 21 and up.

While you’re on the enviro-tip, congrats on the mention and quotes in the “Green” issue of Surfing. Just read it while I was on the crapper this morning. Good to see you getting props for 70%.
I was thinking about 70% this past wind-chop swell we had because I got a sinus infection after surfing onshore chop for 3 days straight. There was all kinds of garbage on the beach from the onshores and the water quality was shit, literally. I know of a couple other guys who are sensitive to water quality had some ear problems as well, I just wonder how wide spread it is in Central Florida. We have alot of Cruise ships that go out every day out of Port Canaveral and dump their wastewater. Surfrider here is doing a really good job of creating awareness and one of the ships just announced a wastewater on-board treatment facility. Definitely a big step for the smaller Gambling boat ships.
Anyways, congrats on the mention and keep up the good work.

Thnaks bro. I’d love to work more on that section, as it deserves a big, easy to use page and lots of mentions to drive more traffic there, but too many paying gigs are keeping me down.
Thanks to Matt Walker who did a great job in writing that piece.
Go and log your sinus infection. Every little thing counts.
