Google Oceans
Google is planning on 3d mapping the oceans. Google Earth has un-earthed (heh) more surf spots than any previous technology. 3d bathometric maps of the entire ocean floor could easily point to undersea mounts like Cortez Bank, but there is no word on whether the system will have the nearshore resolution to aid the search for more tame breaks.

In the mean time, check out this huge list marine data and overlays for Google Earth. Some favorites include tides predictions, worldwide cloud overlay (updated every 3 hours) and world wide bouy forcast from stormsurf.

I love to take google surf excursions up and down the coastlines of continents I may never get to. Now I won’t even have to buy a boat. I’ll be a keyboard surf explorer!
