Taylor Knox and his woman took me and my woman’s seats at our favorite Japanese restaurant last night. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue but there is only about 25 seats in the whole place. It’s so good, I’m not even mentioning it by name. When it fills up, you can’t get a seat for an hour We were pissed. If we see him down here in Leucadia again, there will be trouble. I don’t care if he is the most powerful shralper on tour. Stay in Carlsbad Knox!
EDIT: Ok, so he didn’t take the seats, he was there when we got there. Also, we weren’t really pissed, just hungry, so there probably isn’t going to be any trouble. Also, with carves like :34 seconds into that video, TK can go whereever the hell he wants.
Despite all the chaos in the lineup, Zach Keenan was ripping lowers yesterday. Some video of the man in action, different day, different break, same shredding.

Patagonia will attempt to fit as many people into Cardiff by the Sea as possible this Saturday night with the world premiere of Chris Malloy’s new film, One Track Mind. It’s pretty much a must attend, with two showings (7:30 & 8:45) to attempt to alleviate the massive crowds. Parking will be so bad, that I’m going ride the coaster from Encinitas and hope for a soft to landing when jumping off at Cardiff.
Ok, it might not be that crazy, but it WILL be the place to be early Saturday evening. Later that night, I’m betting The Office and The Shanty will be packed to capacity.
The fine tradition of animation in surf films is carried in One Track Mind by Alex Kopps:

Thanks to Devon Howard for the heads up and getting some cool art my way.
Bunker77… the life and high times of Bunker Spreckels looks awesome, I mean, if you are into surfing, sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll. I’m not saying I dig that stuff, mind you… but some people might wish they weren’t 5 years old in the 70s.
One complaint… when will documentary style surf films stop biting Riding Giant’s animation, and get their own art direction? Biting that style undermines the uniqueness of the film.
Thanks Pat!
Ok, it’s officially Mandala week on 70…
