The Gyre

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Artist Chris Jordan’s new work gyre recreates Hokusai’s ‘The Great Wave’. The piece usesh 2.4 million pieces of plastic, which is the amount of plastic that enters the worlds oceans every hour. It’s fitting way to visualize the massive amount of plastic we are leeching into the sea. via Inhabitat

Baja Panoramas

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

If you’ve never been on a surf trip in Baja, these Pano VRs give you a sense of what it’s like, minus the tacos and the dust. I like this one this one of the old Baja Road south of El Rosario.

More Kopps

More Kopps. This time it’s a short length of film from what appears to be a focus group who have just seen either Physco with surfing scenes spliced in, or displacement with surfing scenes spliced in. Thanks JP.

Kopps? What Gives?

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

Weird, Alex Kopps is in this Surfline photo essay of some thruster semi groms, but only in the non surfing shots. You can’t tell me he didn’t get a few drainers on that space race sled of his, so what gives?

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009
