This could get really interesting really fast. After making landfall over a sparsely populated area of Mexico, two of the four potential tracks produced by weatherundergournd.com have Dean crossing mainland Mex and racing up the Sea of Cortez, building back to hurricane speed as it goes.
The warm water of the Sea of Cortez is like a trail of giant twinkies to a fat man. Or better, a fat man that is somehow running in 100 degree heat. Fat men don’t slow down easy, so where that trail of twinkies ends expect a wet, sticky collision.
The loneliest track on the map takes Dean on a vacation to Cabo. The storm then swings west of Baja where it will find plenty of warm water to build strength with. This could mean swell for San Diego by the beginning of next week. Here’s hoping the fat man avoids the trail of Cortez twinkies and kicks out some swell for us.
