An Ocean Full Of Plastic
Every piece of plastic ever made is still around. It just gets smaller and smaller. Eventually much of it winds up in the sea, lots of which gets mistaken as fish eggs and other types of food.
This video is part of Patagonia’s Ocean As Wilderness campaign. Follow the link to tell your representatives you care about this issue. I saw a similar presentation on this at a Surfrider meeting. Ever since I try to buy as few plastic objects as possible. Plates, knives, cups, products with plastic packaging… whatever. It’s all going to be here forever and it kills.

this film needs to be in every school in the country.no every school around the planet. just go to mex or indo & look @ all the plastic on the beaches. the kids need the info, because to many parents just don’t care. it is not about all the stuff you can get with lots of money. it is about living in harmony with the planet. WAKE UP ! keep it green for the future.

Great post Rob!
Chip’s right about the kids. We need to educate them about how they’re going to have to clean up the mess we’re blindly creating in so many ways.
In the meantime we can all decline the plastic bags and use our reusable bags (or god forbid carry the items themselves!) and remember to pick that trash up from the line up and beach - there are loads of garbage bins around to use.
Unfortuantly this is a global problem but there are moves to solve it - we should try and take the lead that certain Indian states are taking:

There are bills currently being passed or rejected in californian law to help reduce our local impact on the seas we all love.
In particular senate bills 898 and 899 can be supported by writing to your local represenatives. There are at least three assembly bills regarding this matter but I’m afraid I can’t remember what they are :(
