Spring Cleaning

Doing a little spring cleaning on the blog today. Pulled the Ebay ads (too many popouts and junk being displayed), changed the format to allow longer rants, and added a permalink to each Tenover post so you can comment easier. Let me know if anything looks wonkey.

Liking the new format. Kinda threw me off at first. I really like some of the stuff you dig up for the Tenover links, like the Pop! Tech link. I spent hours last night watching a bunch of really good speakers and downloaded the mp3 of that Rodrigo y Gabriela song. My wife was laughing at me today as I sat with my guitar at the computer pausing the video to try and pick out the notes. LOL.

Only suggestion I have for the new improved Tenover links is to either left align or justify the text. It’s kinda hard to read having it all centered.

Digging having the Tenover comments on the front page too.

The Jet Stream as viewed from the South pole gives a pretty clear indication of why the next few weeks is going to be pretty small. What we need, is a trough from under NZ to halfway across the Atlantic, then a northward spike pointing directly at us.

46% of White shark attacks were on divers, but in attacks in which the victim was collecting marine creatures, only 10% of attacks were against urchin divers. Abalone divers didn't fair so well though in this statistic, as 56% of those attacks were against them.

The Cali Department of Fish and Game has an Urchin Fishery page which contains some really interesting info: The number one diver in 2006 brought in 233 thousand pounds, worth 118 thousand dollars. Another tidbit: The total California catch has declined dramatically from 25 million pounds in 1991 to 7.5 million pounds in 2003.
